Green Engineering: Clean Energy & Sustainable Living

The future of energy engineering begins at home. With this kit, kids can construct and experiment with a model house that demonstrates various aspects of renewable energy and green home design. What can solar cells be used for? What influence does climate have on energy consumption? What are the benefits of a green roof? Answers to these and many other exciting questions about green energy technology and sustainable living become clear as kids conduct the experiments outlined in the manual. The house includes working models of a variety of real-world devices used at home, including a solar panel, a home energy storage battery, a water pump, LED lights, an electric lawn mower, and more. As kids discover how to supply their model house with renewable energy, they'll learn all about clean forms of electricity, thermodynamics, green building practices, and how they can make their own home more energy efficient. Easy-to-build, comprehensive system that's great for classrooms or large group presentations Hands-on projects and experiments bring relevant, topical ideas and scientific concepts to life Model house measures approximately 14” long, 8” tall, 7” wide Includes solar panel, home energy storage battery, water pump to create a climate control system, LEDs, light sensor, robotic lawn mower, green roof for growing plants, and more!
