Ahoy, teachers and early years educators! Our Maths Boats & People set is here to navigate your EYFS numeracy adventures. Whether you're tackling counting, pattern recognition, or introducing basic mathematical skills, this delightful set of boats and peg people is ready to sail into your early years maths curriculum. Designed to bring learning to life, this hands-on resource allows learners to explore key mathematical concepts in a fun, tactile way. Plus, who doesn't love a good boat-themed activity? It's plain sailing when maths feels this exciting. With ten boats and thirty peg people, learners can practice counting, sorting, and even create simple equations. The boats can act as numerical homes, with peg people hopping aboard to represent addition or subtraction problems. Need to develop problem-solving or reasoning skills? Challenge learners to distribute the peg people across the boats evenly or create patterns using colourful vessels. The versatile design supports a range of EYFS numeracy games while seamlessly transitioning into early years maths activities for Key Stage 1. It's perfect for your early years maths area or to complement your early years foundation stage maths curriculum. But the fun doesn't stop at sea! Incorporate our ten-frame bus and five-frame people cars (available separately) for some land-based numerical adventures. Mix and match resources to create scenarios that encourage learners to explore mathematical concepts across different settings. From fostering numerical skills to building early reasoning abilities, this set ensures learners are ready to embark on a journey through the world of maths. And speaking of journeys, did you hear about the mathematician who took a boat trip? They found it quite integral to their holiday planning!
