Codenames Cooperative Word Game

2 - 8 players, 10 years & up A party game of wordplay and deduction! Codenames pits two teams against each other. The rival spymasters give clever one-word clues to guide their teammates to identify secret agents hidden among 25 codenames. The challenge? Avoid innocent bystanders, enemy agents, and the deadly assassin. Think creatively, guess boldly, and make contact with all your agents before your rivals do! Codenames is a fun, easy-to-learn cooperative word and picture deduction game. To play, lay out 25 cards in a 5x5 grid. Each card features a single word. The spymasters share a key card that shows which words correspond to agents from each team, innocent bystanders, and the assassin. The spymasters take turns giving one-word clues followed by a number. The clue should relate to multiple cards that their team should guess, and the number tells teammates how many cards are linked to that clue. Teammates guess one card at a time. If they guess correctly, they can keep going. But if they pick a card belonging to the opposing team or an innocent bystander, their turn ends. And if they choose the assassin? Game over. Get ready for a game night full of clever clues and bold guesses! Contents: 200 cards with 400 codenames 16 agent cards in two colors 1 double agent card 7 innocent bystander cards 1 assassin card 40 key cards 1 rulebook 1 card stand The 2025 edition of Codenames includes revised words, refreshed art, a better insert to hold all the components more securely, and a streamlined rulebook.
