Curse of the Maldita Diamond Card Game

2 - 6 players, 8 years & up Beware of the curse of the Maldita Diamond! On the table: Colorful faceted gem cards and one alluring, yet sinister, purple diamond. In your hand: Challenge cards where you have to find gems that match the color and/or shape on the card. Some have simple math problems to solve and the gem must match the answer. Everyone plays at once, racing to grab the gems that satisfy their cards. First player to complete the cards in their hand grabs the Maldita Diamond and gets bonus points. If you have the diamond, don't celebrate yet. Sure, you may be ahead in points for this round. But now you must draw a curse card. (Cue the Dah-Dah-DAAAAAHHHH drama music) The curse cards are designed to slow you down in the next round. You may have to pull gems using only one finger. Or you may have to announce what gem you're grabbing before you can reach for it. Or (oh no!) you have to run around the table after grabbing a gem! It's quick to learn, is fast to play, and is on track to become a Happy Up favorite! Happy Up Note: We love how the "curse" balances the gameplay, so the chance of one player trouncing the others is unlikely. Plus the curses are goofy... and we are suckers for that sort of thing. We also love the chaos of everyone playing at once! The Curse of the Maldita Diamond is also a fun way for kids to practice some basic math skills. And develop visual acuity as they search for gems with a certain number of sides and color.
