Vintage Bookshelf Checkers & Backgammon

Ages 6+ Backgammon and Checkers are two of the world's oldest and most played board games… this edition includes both! The game of Checkers, or Draughts, resembles the ancient game of Ur, which dates back to 3,000 BC. Since that time, our ancestors have been trying to out-maneuver each other until they eventually capture all of their opponent's pieces. But did you know that a perfectly played game by each opponent will always result in a draw? The earliest record of the game of Backgammon dates back to the 17th century in England, with roots to the 16th-century game of Irish. Due to its combination of luck and skill, it has become one of the world's most played and loved board games. This set is truly a tribute to the original games and the stylish bookshelf package will allow you to proudly showcase it when you and your family and friends are not enjoying it!
