The Moon Over Malibu Maine

From the author: When wildlife friends learn that a local groundhog has never seen a full moon, they make it their mission to help, planning an unprecedented night of moonlight fun and togetherness in the imaginary town of Malibu Maine. But will fox, owl, and their other nocturnal neighbors go along with the plan? Every one of the characters in the new book is a real-life wildlife neighbor of mine. It was a backyard groundhog with a huge personality that prompted the idea, but it was a sunrise "conversation" between a white-tailed deer and a turkey that put the story in motion. Laura Winslow did an incredible job with the watercolor illustrations as the story weaves in and out of daytime and nighttime scenes with its colorful cast of characters. Hardcover. Suggested ages 3-8. By Maine author Tonya Shevenell
