You Track it Weather Lab

Put your weatherman to the test and explore the science behind the weather using this interactive station to track wind, rain, and temperature! Budding meteorologists will love learning the science behind weather—from what makes the wind blow, to what different types of clouds mean, to how snowflakes are formed. You Track It Weather Lab includes real weather-tracking equipment: a weather vane, rain gauge, thermometer, anemometer (that glows in the dark!), compass, and more. In the foldout activity guide, read all about the extremes of our planet as you compare hurricanes to tornadoes, and discover the connection between lightning to thunder. Five experiments take you from challenging your weatherman to predicting the weather using crickets! The you-take-it cloud chart and interactive weather tracker lets you record wind speed, temperature, wind direction, and cloud type so you can write the details in your weather journal when you get home.
