WSW Asian Elephant

Wild Safari Wildlife Collection Endemic to the scrub forests, jungles, and grasslands of India and southeastern Asia, the Asian elephant is the only living species of the genus Elephas (not to be confused with the family Elephantidae). They have a similar life span to humans, and can live to be over 80 years old! History: Populations of the Asian elephant in many parts of Asia have decreased considerably due to habitat loss, habitat fragmentation, and poaching. Similarly, in India Asian elephants are only found in a few regions. Thankfully, they are one of the most readily and actively protected species, and experts are hopeful that their numbers can be stabilized before a repopulation plan is initiated. Scientific Name: Elephas maximus Characteristics: Not only are Asian elephants incredibly intelligent, but they can actually exhibit a wide range of emotions. Hand painted and sculpted by professional artists, this Asian Elephant toy figurine captures the spirit of this amazing animal! Size: Measuring 6.5 inches long and 4.75 inches tall, this Asian Elephant toy model is a bit shorter than a 16 oz. water bottle resting on its side and is about as tall as a soda can. The Asian Elephant is part of the Wild Safari® Wildlife collection. All of our products are Non-toxic and BPA free
